The criminal investigation into the Colectiv blaze made progress this weekend. After the three club owners, arrested last week, it was former District 4 Mayor, Cristian Popescu Piedone's turn to get locked up for 30 days. Also thrown into prison were two civil servants under investigation in the case, as well as the two owners of the company who supplied the pyrotechnics, along with the man who installed and operated them. Prosecutors accuse the former district Mayor of criminal negligence and callous disregard for human life.
