Romania will buy another 12 F16 fighters, Defense Minister Mircea Dusa announced.
Our country has so far acquired a group of 12 US fighter jets. Six of them were modernized in Portugal and will arrive in Romania next year while Romanian pilots have begun flight training. The other six fighters from the same squadron will be brought into the country in 2017.
The F16 jets will have the mission of securing the over flight of the Romanian airspace.
