New charges brought against prosecutor Emilian Eva, who handled the Telepathy case. After a businessman from Moldova accused him of having compelled him to sell his mansion for a song, his lawyer has said he has evidence from other cases. According to the new disclosures, prosecutor Eva allegedly passed resolutions not to indict defendants in cases with damages of hundreds of millions of euros.
Prosecutor Emilian Eva allegedly obtained at an undervalued price a villa that belonged to Anatolie Mărgărint, a businessman whom he investigated in 2002. During the investigation, several properties of the businessman were seized, except for a villa located in the center of Iasi. A lawyer, a close friend of Emilian Eva, contacted then Anatoli Margarint and informed him that the only way out was to sell the villa.
At the end of the investigation, the prosecutor who instrumented the cased decided not to indict.
The allegations against the prosecutor who instrumented the Telepathy case come after more than a decade since the imposed transaction took place. The Moldovan businessman's lawyer claims to have evidence on how prosecutor Emilian Eva gave solutions not to prosecute.
Prosecutor Eva is accused by a former employee of DNA that in the ICA privatization he pressured the witnesses and forced expert Aurelia Nicolae to make up out of thin air a much greater damage. However, Emilian Eva is also the target of a judicial inspection investigation.
