Health Minister Nicolae Bănicioiu, announced Monday in the government meeting, that from July 1 Romania will have the lowest prices for medicines in Europe, claiming that the whole price reduction procedure was completed, discussions being held with both the EC and the IMF and with producers and distributors.
 
"From July 1 Romania transitions to the lowest European price on drugs, as it is normal and as it is confirmed by the socio-economic context. Prices cannot be similar to those countries with stronger GDPs. There have been discussions with the European Commission, IMF, associations of producers and distributors of medicinal products, pharmacy chains, to ensure continuous distribution and not encounter supply shortages and thus the whole procedure is completed, "said Bănicioiu, quoted by Mediafax.
  
He has stated that the new drugs prices reduced by 20 percent, have been published on the website of the Ministry of Health.
