UPDATE 22.59 – Nine professors from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Craiova allegedly took bribes from students to help them graduate. 
Among the professors concerned there is also Dănuţ Firu, the husband of a judge from the Court in Dolj. 
 
The professor used to help students pass their exams in exchange for amounts of money ranging between 50 and 100 euro, while the bribes were handed in either in their personal cars or straight in their offices.  
 
Apparently these actions had become the norm over the past years between the professors and the students who had failed their exams.
 In this regard, prosecutors have raided today the offices and homes of both professors at the Faculty of Medicine and at the County Hospital, where one of the professors is head of department. 11,000 lei were found in the house of one of the other professors.  
 
Several people, including nine students suspects in this case will be heard at the premises of the Craiova County Prosecutor’s office and those detained will be brought to Bucharest with the proposal for placement under police custody.


UPDATE – Eighty people were taken to hearings after the searches conducted in Craiova after the DGA officers and PICCJ prosecutors raided the University of Medicine and the Public Health Department. Several professors are suspected of taking bribes from students.

    Prosecutors raid offices of some professors of Craiova Faculty of Medicine
The investigation has been initiated after several complaints were filed about the fact that some professors would take bribe from students to help them pass their exams.

University professors are accused of having asked for bribes from students in amounts ranging from 50 to 100 de euro, in exchange for exams promotion, Agerpres reports.
