Three Romanian priests and two pilgrims got arrested in Greece after they tried to steal the holy relics of Saint Charalambos.

They went on a quest for God and settled for grabbing the hand of a Saint. They were apprehended shortly after breaking into a monastery.

The young thieves of holy relics admitted their crime, but the servants of the Church made a sworn statement before investigators claiming they didn't break any of the Ten Commandments.

They wouldn't return from their pilgrimage empty-handed. But they wanted more than a holy icon or a book of prayers. They sought a souvenir to be cherished
by any Christian: a sacred artifact - the relics of a Saint.

The monks sounded the alarm and all the gate of the monastery were closed. The thieves tried to geet rid of their sacred loot. They hid the relics in the grass, but they were guilty as sin and their crime reeked to Heaven.

All suspects were treated as dangerous criminals.

The two Romanians who thought God was smiling on them when they were stealing holy relics may have all the time in the world to pray for absolution... behind bars.
