Prime Minister Victor Ponta says, in a Facebook post, that the Constitution's Article 30 on freedom of speech is, in his opinion, "perhaps the most powerful reading" on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, Agerpres reports.

In his Sunday's post, the prime minister also says that journalists can count on his support in building a public agenda "with respect to arguments and citizens."

"On the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day, I wish all my fellow journalists, including those who criticize me no matter what I do, a great deal of success in their work!

We together have the duty to help raise the Romanian society, including through the quality of public debate and you can count on me in building a constructive public agenda, with respect to arguments and citizens. The Article 30 of Romania's Constitution on freedom of speech is, perhaps, the most powerful reading on the World Press Freedom Day," Ponta has written on Facebook.

The World Press Freedom Day is celebrated on May 3.
