Prime Minister Victor Ponta has chastised again the former President, Traian Băsescu, on account of his opposition to building the biggest mosque in the Romanian capital city. Ponta called Băsescu "the last crusader of the 21st century" and accused him of taking advantage of inter-religious tension in order to gain political capital. According to the former Head of State, building the biggest mosque in Bucharest places this country in jeopardy and the project must therefore be cancelled. The Prime Minister's statements were made during an official visit to Amman, where he tried to revive the "traditional relations between Romania and Jordan, in terms of foreign policy and trade exchanges as well.
