In the new formula of government, ministers bring again into question the transfer of ports and police departments to local authorities supervision. Deputy Prime Minister Liviu Dragnea said he had already begun to consult with the county authorities on the decentralization of the police.
Another novelty is passing cinemas in the care of local governments. If the previous project provided that 4-5 cinema halls would stay under the Ministry of Culture, the new Minister Kelemen Hunor wants their number to increase up to 50 countrywide.
After the cancellation of the first project by the Constitutional Court, the government has a new strategy. They plan to take decentralization before the Parliament.
‘We are either proceeding with a single law, or we move forward with a bill for every domain. There will be a draft law by the Government and we will present it before Parliament. (...) Lest it should enter into force, become operational on January 1,2015 ’, deputy Prime Minister Liviu Dragnea said.
If normative acts are adopted, several units under the ministries of Health, Agriculture, Culture, Sports and Environment will move to being coordinated by the local authorities. These include public health services at the county level, beaches, environment and fisheries.
