Ambassadors and Consuls will be summoned to Bucharest announced Monday PM Victor Ponta, after the scandal in the Diaspora.
The head of the PSD announced Monday that he asked Foreign Minister Titus Corlatean to summon in Bucharest on Friday, the ambassadors, consuls and polling stations chairmen from France, Germany, Britain, Austria and the Republic of Moldova, to be instructed so that situations such as the ones of Sunday, where people could not vote, should no longer happen.
"It is unacceptable that the Romanians should not be able to vote," said the head of PSD.
Ponta : BEC may decide to simplify the voting procedure
For the second round of the presidential elections to take place on November 16, UNPR PSD-PC candidate, Victor Ponta, has asked the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) to say what kind of measures are needed to avoid situations such as those yesterday, when many people were unable to vote because of miles long queues, after standing in line for hours.
Thousands of Romanians in the diaspora were unable to vote on Sunday in presidential elections.
Countrymen residing abroad left the polls disappointed that they could not vote, although they had waited seven hours in front of the polling station.
In London, Paris, Rome and Munich, Romanians protested in front of the embassy, angry that they could not vote.
