The three priests accused of having tried to steal holy relics from a Greek monastery have returned home after they were bailed out. Their Orthodox Church superiors have suspended them for one year. This means that, over the next 12 months, they are not allowed to deliver sermons or manage any Church assets.
For at least one of them, however, the punishment is not that tough. Priest Oros has set up a monastic joint venture, a private religious enterprise out of the Romanian Orthodox Church's jurisdiction, which has many followers and dozens of holy relics that draw in believers from all over the country.
