Alessandra Stoicescu presented in the show Q & A show the succession of papers and operations whereby the Ikea store in Bucharest was taken over by Puiu Popoviciu from the parent company in Sweden. Those documents were authenticated by Ioana Basescu by her notary office in 2010.
Since the shop’s inauguration in 2007, the business belonged to Puiu Popoviciu his companies Blue Box Imobiliare SRL, owining the shop itself and Moaro Trading SRL, operating the Ikea shop, being also the franchise holder .
The parent company took over the Ikea store in Romania following a series of operations:
- In March 2010, Ikea Balkan SRL, the Ikea group company took over from a Puiu Popoviciu the companies Blue Box Imobiliare SRL and Moaro Trading SRL
- In July 2010, Blue Box Imobiliare SRL merged with Moaro Trading SRL and Ikea Balkan SRL, the Ikea group thus become owner of the Blue Box Internațional. After the merge, Ikea Balkan and Moaro Trading were erased from the Trade Registry.
- In September 2010, Blue Box Imobiliare changed its name into Ikea România SRL.
- Also in September 2010, Ioana Băsescu authenticated the papers whereby these operations were being legalized.
