Our country recycled in 2012, only 1 percent of the municipal waste, occupying last place in the EU. 99 percent of the Romanian waste reached the landfills, the most recent Eurostat study on the subject shows.

Romania recycles 1 percent of municipal waste, under the framework where by 2020 it should recycle half. In addition, no reports were submitted to the EU on incinerated and composted waste. It means that the rest of municipal waste - 99 percent - were deposited in landfills.
