The quake on Saturday evening occurred in Vrancea, had a magnitude of 5.7 on the Richter scale and it started at a depth of 39 kilometers, according to the National Institute for Earth Physics (INFP), which updated the earthquake parameters.
After the first measurement, INFP indicated a magnitude of 5.5, and later one of 5.6 degrees. The earthquake was felt in Bucharest.
The towns closest to the earthquake epicenter are: Mărăşeşti (six km), Galati (22 km) and Focsani (21 kilometers), Adjud (25 kilometers) and honest (51 kilometers), according to the National Institute for Earth Physics.
The EMSC (European Mediterranean Seismological Centre), the earthquake was followed by a replica of 2.1 on the Richter scale.
It is the largest magnitude earthquake produced this year in Romania. Last year, on October 6, in Vrancea there was a 5.5 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale.
