Muslims from all over Romania got together for the Kurban Bayram morning prayer yesterday. In Bucharest, five thousands believers in Islam prayed in unison, inside a sports hall. 

 
The Mosque in Constanţa was teeming with people. As tradition dictates, goats were sacrificed after the sermon and their meat was given away for the needy.
 
This footage was not taken in Mecca but in Bucharest, in a sports hall of the Dinamo center, turned into pilgrimage site. 
 
Abraham was one step away from sacrificing his own son to prove his unwavering faith. God, however, replaced his son with a goat - a sacred animal to Muslims.
 
In Constanţa, just as tradition dictates, they sacrificed lamb and gave their meat to charity.
 
Romanian Muslims also thought of the tens of thousands of refugees who were unable to celebrate.
 
There are some 65 thousand muslims in Romania, according to the State Secretariat for religious Denominations. In the capital city alone, this community has about 10 thousand members who would like to have a mosque to pray in.
