Four Syrians requested political asylum in Romania after being apprehended by the police in a railway station close to this country's western frontier.
The four men aged 25 to 30 years old were caught yesterday night in the locality of Păuliş in Arad County. They had no IDs on them and they told the Romanian authorities they came here on the Syria - Turkey - Serbia route.
The four Syrians can't speak Romanian or any language of international circulation. They have been taken to the Regional Accommodation and Procedure Centre for Asylum Seekers in Timişoara.
