The 300 kilos of heroin catch was discovered Tuesday in a truck trying to leave the country by Vama Petea customs office, Satu Mare County, after a coordinated action of DIOCT, the drugs discovered were brought to Bucharest by helicopter, judicial sources quoted by Mediafax report.
Judicial sources say that the drugs were discovered in the truck’s double tank.
The truck had tried to escape from Romania to Hungary on Tuesday at noon, by the Vama Petea customs, but was stopped by police.
Next to the prosecutors from the Organized Crime and Terrorism Investigation Division (DIICOT) and the policemen from the territorial office from Satu Mare, SPIR teams and a helicopter of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) have also arrived at the crime scene.
According to the same source, the drugs worth a few million euros were transported to Bucharest by helicopter.
The truck driver has been brought in for questioning.
