Prime Minister Victor Ponta published on the Twitter network, a message expressing his solidarity with the Romanians protesting peacefully in front of the Channel 4 television station that broadcast a documentary about Romanians in the UK.

The prime minister made the call public and "connected" his British counterpart David Cameron to see the message.
The first episode of the Channel 4 documentary is "not representative of the Romanian community in the UK, showing only a small social segment in number" , the statement by the MFA red.
However, according to information submitted by the producers, the following episodes "will present other Romanian cases, better integrated into the British society," MFA adds.

"Following the approach initiated by the Romanian Embassy in London, the show's producers have changed the text in the trailer promoting the film introducing a fuller context of this documentary which emphasizes the human dimension of the film," MFA says, according to Mediafax.

In parallel with this approach, " Romania’s Ambassador to London has sent a message of gratitude to the Romanian community in the UK, who mobilized in an extraordinary manner, expressing in his turn his legitimate concern about the image of the community they are part of, many of them have sent letters directly to the show producers ".

The Foreign Affairs Ministry expresses its appreciation "for the reactions of support from leading representatives of the British society, such as the Essex University Rector, Professor Anthony Forster".

"Respecting the freedom of journalistic expression, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of Romania in London, will closely watch the following episodes broadcast by Channel 4 and expressed the expectation that they will present in a balanced and representative manner, the real picture of the Romanian community in the UK as a whole, "the MFA statement position reads.
