The Romanian state is spending money unnecessarily in an attempt to find an alleged hidden fortune of Dan Voiculescu

Two months after judge Camelia Bogdan asked all state institutions to find Dan Voiculescu’s money, the result is still zero.

In fact, Dan Voiculescu explained again in a posting on his blog that the Romanian government spends money unnecessarily in the  attempt to find an alleged hidden wealth. It is not the first time the founding president of the Conservative Party is accused that he  has hidden accounts.

In the 90s, it was demonstrated that the allegations were unfounded, after  the state institutions investigated, in  their turn, the case .

The ruling in the most serious political case file of the past 25 years has  engendered a psychosis related to the actual fortune of  Dan Voiculescu.

"People are wondering:

Does Voiculescu have  or does not have, money, assets undeclared in the country and abroad?

Has he managed to fool the Romanians by hiding his fortune?

In the end, is  Voiculescu or isn’t he a thief, is he an honest man  ? (beyond the preconceived idea that every rich man is a thief) " Dan Voiculescu wrote  on blog.

"There are still a few days until the completion of two months since the start of this comprehensive action and nothing was found. Let them search! Let them search well and everywhere, no matter how much these vain searches would cost the Romanian. I’m waiting  patiently throughout for  Romania to receive, upon completion of this search, a clear answer to the three questions above, " Voiculescu concludes.

Voiculescu's statement comes after Judge Bogdan Camelia asked two months ago that Voiculescu's money  be searched  for by the  Office of  Crime Prevention and the Cooperation of Asset Recovery, the NAFA, the NTC, the NOPCML, the Customs Authority, the Financial Guard, the NBR, the General Inspectorate of Police, the National Agency for Cadastre and other Romanian state institutions which are  responsible for the area. This is not the first time such a search is undertaken by the institutions.

"In the early 90s, Petre Mihai Băcanu constantly fed for 7 years like a Chinese drop the myth that I would have managed  Ceausescu's secret accounts. They say, no more, no less, that  I was the dictator’s right hand, of the old regime. Subsequently, a government commission headed by Mugur Isarescu, a parliamentary committee and the  court concluded that these accounts did not exist. The court ruled I was innocent, according to the decision 531 / 08.04.1997 and I received public apology by Mr. Băcanu, but this myth has remained " the blog of Dan Voiculescu reads.
