The Telepathy case is one of the most gross abuses by the legal system in Romania. There is no mystery that it was an action of political revenge and not an act of justice.

The damages in the Telepathy case was made up by the DNA “out of thin air” and its proportions blown up to 60 million euros. The calculations were made considering the prices at the level of 2008, a year of real estate bloom, not at the level of the year 2003 when the Institute’s privatization was conducted. Moreover, the calculations were made by unauthorized people. An evident violation of the law.

The evaluators technical expertise report, based on which professor Dan Voiculescu was convicted, was drafted by expert Mihai Papasteri.

The land and buildings of the Institute of Food Research were worth in 2003, the year of the Institute’s privatization 3,2 million dollars. When they established the damages, DNA took from the report of expert Mihai Papasteri the value initially indicated for 2008, when the assets were estimated at 55 million euros. It was a report drafted to follow precise orders.

The thing is that Papasteri had no legal right to draft this report. He made the valuation in 2008 when in fact he became a legal assessor in 2014, 6 years later.

The evidence has been highlighted by an investigation of Antena 3 and presented Wednesday during the "Daily Summary".
