Traian Băsescu, booed at the Army’s Day celebration event

Traian Băsescu was booed at the end of his speech delivered at Carei. Several participants at the Army’s celebration day whistled the President as he left from the microphone.

It was the first time in this elections campaign when Prime Minister Victor Ponta and President Traian Basescu stood face to face.

The two attended the ceremonies celebrating Romanian Army’s Day, which took place at the Monument of the Romanian Soldier in Carei.

Although the audience expected to see Elena Udrea too, Traian Băsescu decided to come alone.  

Saturday marks 70 years since October 25, 1944, the day of the final victory of the Romanian Army against the Hungarian-German troops.
