Traian Băsescu responded after the bombings in Paris on the evening of November 13th 2015. Former Romanian president called on European solidarity and zero tolerance of Muslim immigrants.
Dear Romanian State,
I beseech you, no matter how much European politicians press you, whose demagoguery I am well familiar with, do not accept Muslims refugees quota.
Zero quota is the right solution.
We must be united with the EU Member states for intelligent measures, but we cannot accept unrealistic solutions.
If we want a realistic solution, the closing of EU borders and expulsion of migrants is the right solution.
God rest in peace those killed in Paris. Please do not consider me an anti-European, but a Romanian who understands well what he is saying and what is happening.
