Dozens of inhabitants of a village in Botoşani planted trees in the potholes of a highway in their County, to protest against the local authorities' inactivity.
The Mayor of Dângeni said that County Council representatives had refused to repair the intense circulated road, in spite of his repeated pleas over the past eight years.
The inhabitants of Dîngeni answered their Mayor's call and planted acacia trees on the County road linking their village to the city of Botosani.
The Mayor was angry with the County authorities, whom he had asked on several occasions to pave the road, which obviously didn't happen.
Representatives of the Botosani County Roads and Bridges Department say they were unable to fix the problem because they didn't have enough money.
Road workers have promised that the almost one mile long road segment will be repaired within two weeks.
