The transplant team in the crashed plane was made up of renowned doctors. Some of the best specialists in surgery and transplantation across the country were on the verge of losing their lives during the mission meant to change four destinies for the better .

Radu Zamfir surgeon at Fundeni Institute was the coordinator of the medical team involved in the organs transplantation of a patient in Oradea. He is the one who after the accident, together with doctor Valentin Calu from Elias Hospital, ensured first aid medical assistance to the wounded. He is 39 years old and he attended dozens maybe even hundreds of transplants with Prof. dr. Irinel Popescu, head of the Center of General Surgery and Liver Transplantation from Fundeni Institute.

Valentin Calu is 42 years old and works as a surgeon at Elias Emergency University Hospital in Bucharest, and since 2007 he serves also as spokesperson for the hospital. Previously, he was the coordinator of the Emergency Unit at Elias Hospital .

Joining them was dr.  Sorin Ianceu surgeon at the hospital in Beiuş. He is part of the organs donation unit of the Oradea County Hospital.

The aircraft piloted by Adrian Iovan also had Catalin Pivniceru - surgeon at St. Mary's Hospital in the capital. The doctor has been working for 13 years in the medical unit.

Serving as a resident doctor at Fundeni Hospital , the young woman who lost her life in the plane crash was a fifth year student at the Institute of Military Medicine in Bucharest.

During the fatal flight, Adrian  Iovan was being helped along by copilot Răzvan Petrescu.

With an experience of more than 16,000 flight hours. Adrian Iovan was not at the first incident that led to an aircraft crash. In 2012 he made ​​an erroneous takeoff with an Aviation School aircraft.

The day before he lost his life in the air crash, pilot Adrian Iovan gave his last interview to our colleagues from the Observatory show. Iovan was speaking about the likely dangers that can occur during flights. He said that an airplane trip can shorten your life by many years. And that was it.
