Traian Băsescu’s secrete police collaborator dossier was destroyed after graduation. It happened in 1979.
Traian Basescu was recruited by the Secret Police in 1973, while a student at the Institute of Marine and his dossier was destroyed six years later.
The information was revealed Saturday during the Q&A show on Antena 3.
Here are the main stages that led to the destruction of the dossier:
1st Stage: Student collaborator. In 1973, he was recruited by the secret police during his studies at the Marine Institute having the collaborator dossier no. 3990 of 11.09.1973.
2nd Stage: PCR member supporting the activity of the Secret Police
On September 9, 1976, at graduation, Traian Basescu gets the party’s approval to engage in supporting the secret police activity, in his capacity of second degree officers in the Maritime Fleet Operations organization (IEFM), as shown in the register of persons enrolled members of PCR.
3rd Stage: Transfer to Foreign Intelligence Directorate
On August 15, 1979, Traian Băsescu’s collaborator dossier no. 3990 of 11.09.1973, is destroyed according to Report no. 58212 written by the Secret Police, as shown in the Register of log records information network in Constanta and the NCSSA decision of September 2006.
