Romanian Football Federation will support Ali bin Al-Hussein in the elections for the presidency of FIFA, which will take place on Friday in Zurich.
"On May 28th and 29th , president Razvan Burleanu and general secretary Gheorghe Chivorchian will represent the Romanian Football Federation at the 65th FIFA Congress, the meeting’s agenda features the election of the organization’s president .
The Romanian Football Federation analyzed the situation regarding the FIFA president election together with Mr. Michael van Praag and the decision of the head of the Dutch federation was to support the Jordanian Prince Ali bin Zurich Al-Hussein for the position of FIFA Vice President.
We share the same values and principles with the program of Mr. van Praag and develop the same vision in the context of the need for a broad debate concerning the evolution of FIFA. The support granted to its program stays the same, as the most important points of this document dedicated to reforming the world body will be found, following an agreement to that effect , in the program supported by Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein.
We continue to believe that we need new principles to be set on the agenda of FIFA and the institution practices. Therefore, we remain constant in the support that we provide to the Dutch Football Federation president in this important moment of particular importance for the future of football.
The Romanian Football Federation will support in this congress Mr. Michael van Praag’s decision in the hope of developing a path based on transparency, good governance and a more active role for FIFA in supporting the football phenomenon " the FRF website reads.
