Romania’s national women handball  team has qualified on Thursday in the main groups of  the European Championships in Hungary and Croatia, after beating Ukraine's team by a score of 23-22 (12-9) in the last match of preliminary Group B.

Highly motivated by the  good game against Denmark on Tuesday evening the Romanian team  dominated the match against Ukraine since the start, with a relatively comfortable advantage at halftime, 12-9. In the second half, driven by George Tadic, the  handball team  kept it  "going", performing a  show in front of their  Romanian fans who made the trip to Debrecen and who  rewarded them with generous applause. There were less successful moments in  the game by  the end  but finally  the victory went to Romania at a tight  score 23-22.

Cristina Neagu was the best player of  Romania, with 8 goals, the most important in the match.

With 3 points accumulated in the preliminary group B, Romania’s team has qualified in the  main group of the  European Championship, which starts with 1 point in the ranking obtained in the  dispute against  Denmark.
