Tiraspol authorities appreciated Wednesday that the cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and NATO can have a negative impact on the situation in the Transnistrian Security Zone and expressed their concern about the installation of U.S. missile defense shield in Romania, Novosti PMR agency reports.
According to the deputy minister of Transnistria, Valery Ignatiev, "the active participation of the Moldova Republic within NATO is a threat that could significantly alter the geopolitical balance in the region."
"In addition to the destructive actions of the Republic of Moldovan in the security zone, a strong threat is the installation of the American missile defense system in Romania", Ignatiev said.
"Over the recent years, more negative aspects related to the behavior of Moldovan soldiers who participate or are the cause of incidents can be seen " in the region, he added.
