Italian police arrested on Wednesday morning, a Romanian in a vehicle carrying 26 illegal Afghan immigrants Il Messaggero informs.
The 68-year-old Romanian was caught by the Carabinieri carrying in a vehicle registered in Romania, 26 Afghan illegal immigrants, including three minors.
The vehicle was stopped on the Italian highway A23, in the Tarvisio area, on the border between Italy and Austria.
The Romanian driver was placed in custody on charges of trafficking and favoring illegal immigration.
