Several Romanians were waiting to vote in front of the  polling station in Turin, needed medical attention after  the gendarmes intervened with tear gas.

"With only 45 minutes before the official closing of the polls, the last 25 Romanians were allowed to enter to exercise their right to vote, but just then the crowd rushed over the  volunteers responsible for overseeing the proper conduct of the voting  process. The protests escalated into violence. Subsequently, the Italian police threw tear gas at  people, " Luiza Diculescu said, Antena 3 correspondent.

According to Luiza Diculescu, about 3,700 people voted today in Turin, while 700 could not express their right to vote.

"Over 1,000 people are in front of the General Consulate in Turin and are  chanting anti-government messages, unhappy that they could not vote," Luiza Diculescu said Sunday evening live on Antena 3.

Romanians are chanting slogans such as: "We want to vote!" "Thieves!", "Shame!", "You've stolen our rights."

Thousands of Romanians are waiting in  Paris to vote at  the two polling stations where queues were also formed before the polls open.

"Currently, there are street fights before the Romanian Embassy in Paris. It's an angry mob and gendarmes intervened with tear gas," Raluca Lazar said, the Antena 3 correspondent in Paris.
