Interim President Crin Antonescu stated, Tuesday evening, that impeached president Traian Basescu and his people would not get rid of him unless they kill him no matter how many threats, insults and slander would be thrown at him.
Antonescu also said that in the political fight against Traian Basescu he would go all the way and would not stop no matter what.
„Traian Basescu and these people will not get rid of me unless they kill me, which is not the case, I hope. They are not getting rid of me until they answer politically in front of the Romanian citizens, whom they have lied to, whom they have stolen from and, more recently, whom Traian Basescu defies and intimidates every single evening. (...) Until this ends I will not stop no matter the threats, insults or slander“, Antonescu claimed.
Also, interim president addressed a message to people who voted on July 29th saying that he would fight for their choice.
„My message is: do not be afraid people, Romania is not nobody's country, it can not be ruled by Traian Basescu, in a gangster manner, with threats, insults and intimidation. We are here to fight and we shall fight until the end for law abiding, for civil rights and for your vote“, Antonescu said, mentioning that in this purpose he will make use of every prerogative he has as an interim president.
