The manager of the National Theatre in Bucharest, Ion Caramitru, strongly criticizes the incumbent Minister of Culture.
Ion Caramitru went on war footing against Vlad Alexandrescu because the Ministry of Culture is going to appoint as heads of cultural institutions people from other fields of activity. Caramitru told Alexandrescu he was Minister of Culture, not Street Culture.
The latter has kickstarted a project under which cultural institutions can also be managed by higher education graduates without cultural studies. Ion Caramitru has called for stopping this project on behalf of 18 cultural institutions.
