The capital and 14 counties are going under a code orange warning of snow storms on Thursady night, while 16 other counties will be placed under a code yellow warning on Thursday evening, according to the National Meteorology Administration.

The orange code  warning that includes snow collecting on the ground, snow storms, and low visibility between March 22 and March 23 at 3 PM, will affect the following counties: Caraş-Severin, Mehedinţi, Dolj, Olt, Argeş (partially), Teleorman, Dâmboviţa (partially), Prahova (partially), Buzău (partially), Giurgiu, Ialomiţa, Călăraşi, Brăila andTulcea, as well as the capital, Bucharest.

According to meteorologists, in south of Banat and Oltenia, and most parts of Muntenia and Dobrogea, there will be heavy snow, and the wind will intensify with a speed of 50-60 km/h, and 65-70 km/h on some areas, creating snow storms that will decrease visibility.

Starting Thursday at 3 PM, until Friday at 8 PM, counties Timiş, Hunedoara, Alba, Sibiu, Vâlcea, Braşov, Covasna, Argeş (partially), Dâmboviţa (partially), Prahova (partially), Buzău (partially), Bacău, Vrancea, Vaslui, Galaţi and Constanţa will be placed under a code yellow of storms, strong winds and extremely low temperatures.

In Banat, Oltenia, Muntenia, Dobrogea, the south part of Moldova and the Carpati Meridionali and Curbura area, snow storms will be extending from the south-west and intensify. A new layer of snow will form, and the wind will intensify at about 45-55 km/h, which will worsen the snow storms.  

In south and east of Dobrogea, precipitations will be mixed, and glazed frost will form .

„The weather will mantain incredibly cold until the end of the week, especially in the south east where wind intensifications will worsen the feeling of cold” declared meteorologists.

Thursday will remain extremly cold, with maximum temperatures reaching -3 to 5 degrees. In the northen parts there will be sunny, but in the south there will be snowing abundently, and the visibility will decrese.

On Friday, the weather will be extremely cold and the snow storms will continue in the south east of the country. The layer of snow will increase, the wind will get stronger and in south of Oltenia, most of Muntenia and Dobrogean, the snow will be heavy.

On Saturday the low temperatures will remain, and in south and est of the country there will be the lowest values.

On Sunday the temperatures will reach 10 degrees, there will be partially cloudy, and precipitations will form at night.
