Being invited at Sinteza Zilei TV broadcast, Finance Minister Florin Georgescu has made a radiography of the Romanian economy’s condition and has spoken about the governmental strategy meant to recover the economy and about the immediate measures he is going to take concerning salaries, pensions and business environment.

- Romania is a country that consumes more than it produces. When you draw a line at the end of the year, the result is surely negative.
- In the absence of foreign investments and of other external flows, Romania was forced to appeal at funds from international institutions.

- Regarding promises made to the citizens, there have been granted salary increments. 8% in June and 7.5% in December.
- We have discovered illegalities as regards the manner of calculating retiring pensions.
- The decision about VAT payment at collecting the invoiced amount has been preliminarily discussed with the representatives of the three institutions. They will come on July 30th and will stay in Romania till August 13th or 14th.
