Economic analyst Ionel Blănculescu, former president of Bank Assets Recovery Authority, has been  appointed  honorary adviser to  Prime Minister Victor Ponta, according to a decision released Thursday in the Official Journal.

Blănculescu will not be paid for his governmental activity.


During  2001 to 2003, Ionel Blănculescu was secretary of state and chairman of the Office for the recovery of bank loans which later became Bank Assets Recovery Authority.


He was Acting Minister of Health from 20 October 2003 to  27 November 2003 and Minister  delegate to  coordinate  the supervisory authorities from 19 June 2003 - December 2004.


From April 3, 2012 he has been  the general secretary of the Business Advisory Council, an entity which should oversee the interaction between government policies and domestic business.


He is also a  member of ANEVAR (National Association of Appraisers of Romania) since 2003
 

He became a PSD member on July 8, 2003 and was expelled on  December 7, 2007, on the grounds that he failed to attend party meetings.
