The Prime Minister said that as interim minister of Justice, he planned to meet early next week with President Traian Basescu and Tuesday he would discuss with the prosecutors department within the SCM about to the new prosecutors for the leadership of the Prosecution Office and the DNA.
“We have discussed it and the next week, I asked – I hope they agree – for a meeting with the prosecutors department of the Superior Council of Magistracy, also Monday or Tuesday I will be seeing the president ”, Ponta said.
SCM President, Oana Schmidt- Hăineală, stated Thursday that the meeting with Prime Minister Victor Ponta on the topic of the proposals for chief prosecutors for the Prosecution Office and the DNA would be hold Tuesday at 11 o’clock, the discussions would take into account the PM’s capacity of interim Minister of Justice.
Wednesday, Mona Pivniceru submitted her resignation as head of the Ministry of Justice.
Mona Pivniceru was appointed Tuesday judge in the Constitutional Courts, subsequent to the vote in the Senate’s plenary.
