Prime Minister Victor Ponta stated Thursday that there were not three ministers suspected of corruption, as the CVM report, presented yesterday, mentioned.
“It mentioned that for corruption actions there were three ministers. It is not true. For an action eventually assimilated to corruption, it is actually office abuse, Mr. Fenechiu was sent for trial. Liviu Dragnea is not being investigated for corruption but for the referendum law and for the elections law”, the head of the Executive specified Thursday
As far as the third minister is concerned, Ponta stated he did not know who it was about.
“I could not find the third, as neither could you. In an official document, as is the one of the European Commission, you cannot state things according to sources, as you do in the media”, the head of Government specified.
According to France-Presse Agency, a European Commission source allegedly stated that the two Ministers referred to in the CVM report were Liviu Dragnea and Varujan Vosganian. According to the source, the third would be Fenechiu.
AFP recalled that Dragnea was being investigated for alleged involvement in the frauds committed at the referendum on the dismissal of President Traian Basescu.
The third minister referred to by the European Commission report was Fenechiu, the holder of the Transports portfolio.
