Human deaths in the dead of winter

Romania came under siege during the first day of true winter! Two people lost their lives yesterday. One of them died from cold, the other after his vehicle skidded off a snow-covered road.

Two policemen and the detainee they were taking to prison were injured when the van they were in ended up in an off-road ditch. The bad weather delayed the arrival or departure of trains and airplanes by dozens of minutes.
