Dacia sales rose last year by 19%, up to 511,000 vehicles, the main market is still France, with nearly 105,893 units, while in Romania deliveries advanced by 19% , up to 29,625 units, equivalent to a share of 31.2% of the market.
"2014 will go down in Dacia’s history, we sold over 500,000 units. Dacia enters in a very small group of manufacturers who make 500,000 cars per year. We went over the number of half a million cars sold, being among the most dynamic in Europe. This is an important source of pride. The Dacia trend is positive, with a 19% increase compared to 2013. We noticed an important increase in many countries, including Romania, "said Monday in a press conference Jan Ptacek, Dacia sales manager.
The best sold model is Sandero with cu 169.000 cars sold, of which 80% were sold in Central Europe, with Sandero Stepway sales weighting in over 50%, Mediafax reports.
On the 2nd position are Duster sales with 160,318 units sold, the market leaders being Romania, France and Spain. Dacia has also sold 100,000 Logan models, mostly in Romania and other Eastern European countries.
We have confidence in Romania’s market potential, because it returned to growth in 2014, we hope that the trend will continue in 2015. It should be a very good year for Dacia, we look optimistically at 2015. We will grow the models range, with Lodgy and Dokker Stepway respectively. (...) We are about to increase the number of markets, we have recently began sales in Israel, and we are present in 43 countries. Growth should run its course in 2015, taking into account the European market, which has resumed a rather positive trend and by the optimistic perspectives on the Romanian market, growth should continue in 2015, too ", Ptacek added.
The manufacturer is owned by the French group Renault.
