The most expensive highway interchange built in Romania in recent years is Gilău-Câmpia Turzii-Turda, with an average cost per mile of about 23 million, a review conducted by the financial newspaper zf.ro reads, quoting data obtained from the national Company of Highways and Roads in Romania, Mediafax reports.
On the other hand, the cheapest highway built in Romania is Timişoara-Arad, where the cost per kilometer has reached € 3.5 million.
According to the financial journal, in the countries nearby, one kilometer of highway would cost about €2.2 million, that’s how much the highway Stara Zagora-Karnobat Bulgaria cost. Also, in Hungary a stretch of 32 kilometers between Szeged and Mako cost €6.6 million per kilometer.
