Volkswagen used several versions of emissions-cheating software, company officials announced. During the seven years of emissions testing manipulation, Volkswagen used different softwares for at least four types of engines, a VW manager stated. The car maker's representative offices in Germany and the United States refused to comment on these information. Volkswagen announved late in September that some 11 million automobiles sold worldwide were fitted with the infamous software designed to cheat on emmissions tests.
