The Romanian Auto Registration Authority has suspended sales of Volkswagen, Skoda, Seat and Audi cars equipped with Euro 5 diesel engines until the software cheating emissions tests is removed by the car-maker. More than 100,000 such cars are registered in this country and will most likely be recalled. The decision has alerted customers and car dealers alike. Many of them are afraid they might be charged more money with the environmental tax. Authorities, however, say they will hold Volkswagen liable.
