The first charging station for electric cars in Bucharest would be set-up in the Union Square. A number of 24 parking plots for six car charging stations modules could be located in the area, according to a draft resolution to be submitted on Friday to the general counsel approval.
‘Given that among the major car manufacturers present in Romania there also the pioneers of the electric vehicle, thus highlights the opportunity to encourage and support the development of electric vehicles, " the document reads.
The pilot project implementation is subject to a working protocol between the holder of the power stations on the one hand and the Streets Administration and the General Directorate of Infrastructure and Public Services, on the other hand, Mediafax reports.
The charging station for electric cars could be set up on the Union Boulevard, across the street from Anton Pann street.
