Mihai Gâdea shared with us his experience with the Emmy Awards Gala: “After the EMMYs ... I was very glad and the word glad is little to describe the state that I was in because I had been part of this gala because we had been nominated. But somehow, my heart clenched a little when I saw Denisa Morariu who, obviously was grieving a little because she had not won. I realized that for someone so young as Denisa who is under 30, making it with the team from the "Premiere" show on Antena 3 with a footage, to be nominated for an Emmy, it's as if you played the final at Roland Garros, aged 7 years.
I was very proud and very happy with the participation of Antena 3 and the level at which it participated. If I were to convey something to those at home is that I am really impressed with the professionalism and talent of my colleagues. For me, it is a great chance to have them as my colleagues. I think our viewers understand the joy of being in the top four in the world and somehow, I know that this dream was not taken to the end is not something to make you feel fully satisfied.
For me and for us, the most important award that we have had in recent years is the attention, respect, appreciation and affection we receive from our audience.
I’ve had the opportunity for several minutes, for several good minutes, to speak with the one that is the greatest producer of talk shows in history. It's Larry King.
I was simply astounded by his interest for someone like me who came from Romania. His modesty amazed me and that he was really interested in discussing about Romania. He sang to me a song that he had heard many years ago, at a time and the song chorus featured the words "Romania, Romania". He promised that in the future, he will seriously consider the option to come to Romania, to address the young and talk about the most beautiful profession in the world, about journalism, " Mihai Gadea said.
Carmen Avram: “For us today was the culmination of our professional life so far. It is the greatest performance that I’ve gotten, and the fact that we did not get an Emmy does not mean defeat.
The fact that I was at the Emmys tonight with all those who represent the huge prestigious journalism world, the fact that we were among the four nominees of the whole earth ... there were hundreds of TV stations from a hundred or so countries who tried to get a nomination and did not get it. We the Antena 3 and the Premiere show were among the first among those chosen to enter the final four in the Emmy Awards.
For us it was a valuable victory ever since we were announced as the nominees for these great awards, basically the most important awards that anyone can dream of when becoming a journalist."
Denisa Morariu:"I feel very happy because I managed to have an Emmy nomination after three years of media and television activity, in fact it is a huge honor to me and it motivates me very much to work more in the future and better so we could make it, take the EMMY and bring it home.
Petrica’s disturbing story of a child abandoned by his parents in Romania, who has found his way home after an American family taught him to stand on his own two feet.
The nomination itself to such a gala is a great achievement, and the performance of the "Premiere" show team will remain inscribed in the book of the Emmy Awards
It is basically the recognition that Antena 3 journalists will always be part of the international elite of journalism. The footage in the competition competed against stories of broadcasters from Canada, Argentina and Hong Kong
Petrica’s story was already awarded the gold medal twice at another great TV competition: New York Festivals.
