The Coehsion Fund was created to reduce the differences in economic and social development of the EU member states and to stabilze their economies.
"The Coehision policies give the posibility to the European Union to invest in a region", said Constanze Angela Krehl, german MEP, in an interview for the show "Be EU with Sabina Iosub", at Antenna3.
These money go to EU member states with a GDP of less than 90 percent of the EU average. Generally they fund actions that relate to trans-European transport networks and the environment.
So far, Romania has received from the European Commission 11,73 billion euros. These funds have been allocated during the programming period 2007-2013.
