Chevron Company gives up shale gas exploration in Romania, reports the Wall Street Journal. The announcement comes less than a month after giving up the exploration in Poland.
"There is Romania, where we are in the process of sacrificing our interests in the concession," Chevron spokesman said, quoted by the Wall Street Journal.
The Chevron official did not mention the reasons why the company gives up shale gas exploration in our country.
On 1 February, Chevron announced that it gave up exploration of shale gas deposits in Poland, as the results were not up to the initial expectations.
Victor Ponta said in November last year, on Antena 3, that apparently Romania did not have shale gas, despite the efforts to discover it .
