Corina Cretu: Romania could lose 2.6 billion euros from the EU
European Commissioner for Regional Policy, Corina Cretu, is sounding the alarm about the money from the EU that Romania might lose.
"We are in the third year of the financial year. It is known that the budget is designed on seven years, so we entered the 2014-2020 financial cycle, and my presence in Romania lately is precisely to raise awareness that we are in the third year of this financial period in which we will benefit from 23 billion euros from European funds, and unto this hour the absorption of European funds is 0.
It is absolutely vital that the absorption of European funds for this financial program to take place soon.
We have new regulations in operation.
For example, we expect to be notified that institutions implementing European funds were approved - without these we can not make any payments' Corina Cretu said on the show 'BE EU' with Sabina Iosub, at Antenna 3.
