The budget for 2013 the USL put together was designed to boost economic recovery and growth, the Finance Minister, Daniel Chiţoiu stated Saturday in Resita according to Agerpres.
According to him, in 2012, the Romanian economy registered a very small increase, which was influenced both by the economic developments in Europe, with Romania being dependent on it by 70% and by a poor agricultural year.
‘The budget the USL has put together for 2013 was designed so that it would create the premises to boost economic recovery and growth, so that by 2016 we would have an economic increase rate and a development rate of at least three to four percent. That means that in the first half of the year we have tried to allot the amounts of money to all local public authorities for them to cover their debts ’, Chitoiu stated.
According to the Finance Minister, in the second half, based on the measures taken by the Government to boost economic growth , more amounts of money would be collected in order to enable the allotment of larger amounts for the investment projects of the local public authorities.
‘We have established that we would not put money into hopeless black holes, but to allot the amounts of money on investment objectives that are indeed needed in every local community. You may expect that, based on the office I am holding with the Romanian Government that I would make promises to you, that we are going to live better, that we have lots of money and that every county council chairman, every mayor, once he requested the amounts of money they urgently needed, we would be able to grant that immediately’, Daniel Chitoiu stated.
According to Chiţoiu, the USL governing program, as main objectives, has set at the level of the 2010 wages, the recovery of the contribution deficits owed to the pensioners, that were withheld illegally by the Boc government, accompanied by a series of social measures.
“All these measures have involved a great budgetary efforts, both for 2012, as well as for the next years”, Daniela Chitoiu explained.
