According to the first estimates released by the National Statistics Institute (INS), on August 14, Romania's GDP grew by 1.7% in the first half of 2013, both on the unadjusted series and on the seasonally adjusted series compared to the first half of 2012.
GDP in the second quarter of 2013 was, in real terms, up by 0.3% compared to the first quarter of 2013 (seasonally adjusted data).
The Fiscal Council last week , considered realistic the forecast growth of 2% for 2013, for Romania, given that a normal agricultural year will contribute substantially to the economic growth rate.
