Important changes are about to take place in the largest state-owned bank in Romania. President of CEC Bank, Radu Gratian Gheţea, completes his mandate at the head of the institution in April.

The proposal for a new president will be made next month by the Board of Directors.

According to several sources, after the controversy Radu Gheţea was involved in for the loan granted to Ioana Basescu, the eldest daughter of former president, the current president of CEC Bank has no chance to be proposed for a third term.

Ioana Basescu, President Traian Basescu's daughter, contracted on September 9, 2013 a loan from CEC Bank, worth 4.6 million lei to buy 290 acres of land in Calarasi County, loan guaranteed with current and future balances of an account with the CEC bank and the agricultural land purchased.
